Sample 2 

She was in river, and no small river. When she glanced to either side, both riverbends were yards away. The currents, strong, and rocks were plentiful and sharp to cut her legs up as she tried to stay afloat. 

Even if she got to the side of the river, she knew it was even less safe. They were chasing her right along the road that ran adjacent to the riverbend. If she got out the river, she had to face them. 

She eventually felt calm after looking through the trees behind her to see where they were. 

Then she looked ahead… and it was the most beautifully shocking thing she had ever seen.
